Profile
Amelia Ames studies modern art with an interest in the African Diaspora, feminist theory and history, and psychoanalysis. Her dissertation, “Senga Nengudi: Matter and Motherhood,” is a monograph on the artist Senga Nengudi. She earned her B.A. from Barnard College. Before joining the department Ames was a Helena Rubinstein Critical Studies Fellow at the Whitney Independent Study Program.
