Profile
Jonathan is a Ph.D. student in the history of modern and contemporary art with a hemispheric focus on the Americas. His research interests include the forging of transnational solidarities through aesthetics, the circulation of cybernetics and systems theories, and the relationships between artistic practice and left-wing political movements more broadly. He received his B.A. in Art History and Philosophy & Allied Fields from the University of Chicago, where his undergraduate thesis, “New Forms of Communication: The Boundary-Making Practices of Hélio Oiticica,” was awarded the annual Feitler Prize for Outstanding Undergraduate Work.
