Profile

Terence Washington is a Ph.D. student in Art & Archaeology with a focus on modern and contemporary art. He is interested in arts institutions, especially regarding labor conditions, donor wealth, and interpretations of art and political ideas. 

Terence earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John's College in 2015 and an M.A. in Art History from Williams College in 2017. He has since worked as an educator and public programmer at the National Gallery of Art and the Free Library of Philadelphia, an administrator for NXTHVN and Readying the Museum, and a guest curator at the MFA Boston, joining the curatorial team for the 2022 exhibition Philip Guston Now. He has also written essays and poetry for several artist books and exhibition catalogues.
