Black and white women are just as likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States, but black women are 41 per cent more likely to die from it. Join Layal Liverpool, author of Systemic: How Racism is Making Us Sick for a wide-ranging conversation about biopolitics, racial inequity and medical research with Princeton graduate student Aliya Ram. Liverpool is a science journalist with a PhD from Oxford on viral immunology. The conversation is supported by Art Hx, a project directed by Professor Anna Arabindan-Kesson, that explores the legacies of medical colonialism and racism in contemporary visual and museum cultures.
